Why Work
The question is often posed as to why people work? Try asking your friends and coworkers and surely a few of them will say – for the money. As human beings, we derive satisfaction in life by doing things that we feel are worthwhile. When you truly feel that the work you do – is some of your very best work, you feel peace in your heart and a boost of approval in your ability to deliver quality results. Let’s find out if you are inspired by your work and passionate about the work you do.
What Inspires You to Work
How do you know if you are inspired by what you do? The first question should be – are you passionate about the work you do? Does the work fit your abilities and mental makeup? If it does, the first barrier to inspiration in work is broken. For example, a person with a weak physique will find the work of a sailor very unsuitable.
What about enjoyment? Do you enjoy doing your work? Are you happy at the end of the day or tired and irritated? If you enjoy doing what you do, no amount of hard work will tire you. Otherwise your inner frustration of doing something that you don’t enjoy doing will very possibly make you regretful and disappointed in no time.

Do you feel that the work you do inspires others to lead better lives? If somehow you can begin getting that feeling, your inspiration at work will rise without any other help. When employees of a company do extraordinary work and are recognized by leadership for their effort, they no doubt feel a sense of pride and accomplishment about their contribution(s) to the company; maybe even a sense of loyalty. The point is – people feel satisfied and inspired when the work they do is personally gratifying.
The final test to finding out if you are inspired in the your work you do is to examine your creativity level – are others able to see your creativity through your work? People who are truly inspired – demonstrate innovation in some area of their work, because they want to improve upon their work efficiency. Uninspired people fail to put forth any effort, their priority is waiting for the day to be over.
If you have found work that inspires you and offers personal satisfaction – I encourage you to master your craft and continue to find ways to evolve, and, in doing so, joy will come – the money will come.
The inspiration – will take you a lifetime so enjoy the journey!
